The Tongue River Valley, near where Arch Coal wanted to build the Otter Creek Mine

On Thursday, March 10th, the people of Montana accomplished something huge: thanks to years of grassroots organizing and pushback from communities across the state, Arch Coal canceled plans to build the largest new coal mine in North America. We defeated Arch’s Otter Creek Mine: now it’s time to eliminate remaining coal projects in Montana and usher in an era of clean, renewable energy for everyone in our state.
